External Assessment
The watch is examined under magnification for dial quality, case finishing, hands, crystal, bezel, crown, bracelet, lume, and overall consistency. Any signs of refinishing, replacement parts, or wear patterns are noted.
Reference Verification
The model reference, case construction, dial configuration, and visible details are compared against factory-correct specifications and known production variations for the period.
Movement Authentication
The caseback is opened where appropriate, and the movement calibre, bridges, engravings, finishing, and component compatibility are verified against manufacturer standards and serial-range expectations.
Serial, Reference & Production Consistency Check
Serial numbers, reference numbers, and movement details are cross-checked for logical consistency, production period alignment, and authenticity indicators.
Component Integrity Review
Key elements are assessed for originality, including dial, hands, crown, bezel, crystal, clasp, rotor, and bracelet. Service replacements and non-original parts are identified where possible.
Functional & Timekeeping Assessment
The watch is tested for power reserve, amplitude, beat error, winding performance, setting functions, and general rate stability to assess mechanical health and service needs.
Documentation & Final Report
A detailed report is prepared with findings, high-resolution images, observations, risk notes, and an overall assessment of authenticity, originality, and condition.
